Description
The pressure sensor glow plug was the first of its kind to enter mass production. In modern engines, it optimizes combustion, playing a crucial role in reducing soot particle and nitrogen oxide emissions. In fact, BorgWarner pressure sensor glow plugs have been in use since 2008 and help vehicles comply with the strict Euro 6 emissions standard.
Why replace glow plugs:
■ Many vehicles originally equipped with PSG glow plugs have now reached an age where replacement makes sense;
■ Glow plugs are subjected to more frequent stresses in modern engines compared to previous engine generations, for example, due to the regularly required intermediate heating when using start/stop systems;
■ When glow plug performance decreases, more soot accumulates in the engine, which in turn increases the load on diesel particulate filters and the EGR system.
Tip: To avoid damage to the engine system, check/replace glow plugs after 100,000 km of use!
