Friction and Separator Plates Clutch

Friction plates are components used in clutch systems or automatic transmissions, designed to create friction and transmit power from the engine to the transmission or from one part of a mechanism to another. They are coated with high-wear-resistant materials to ensure proper torque transfer while avoiding excessive slippage.

Separator plates are positioned between the friction plates in the clutch packs of automatic transmissions or differentials. Their main function is to separate the friction plates and evenly distribute pressure, allowing for the correct engagement or disengagement of the clutch. They do not create active friction but serve to maintain the structure and distance between the friction surfaces.
